DIVINE FEMININE TAROT by Cocorrina | Unboxing & First Impressions! (Nocturnal Version)

Hey everyone! Welcome back, or if you’re here for the first time, nice to meet you! My name is Ebonie and this blog (and the YouTube channel) is here to help you reconnect to your intuition, so you can manifest in the real world! If you’re interested in all things self-development and mindset, I hope you’ll enjoy today’s blog post (and/or watch the video), and consider subscribing to my YouTube channel linked above!

Today I want to share with you my unboxing and first impressions of this beautiful deck by Cocorrina, the Divine Feminine Tarot. This deck is luscious!

Full disclosure before we get started - I actually won this deck through a competition Cocorinna ran on their YouTube channel! I’m so excited that I won, still can hardly believe it! Can’t remember the last time I won anything! It feels like I’m meant to have this deck, and honestly, I already feel so connected to it.

Also, if you’ve been on my channel before, you might notice today’s background in the video above is a little different! I filmed part of this video in Melbourne, in a hotel room! I’m here to catch up with friends and family, and yes, I am following the recommended safety guidelines and being cautious. Currently, in Victoria, Australia, there are restrictions but no lockdowns, so I’m determined to make the most of this chance to see people I haven’t seen in such a long time! Some I haven’t even been able to catch up with since I got home from overseas, over a year ago!

So, back to this beautiful deck! I filmed myself unboxing it in Warrnambool before leaving for Melbourne, but I didn’t get the chance to finish the video entirely or share my thoughts on it. I just couldn’t wait to unbox it on Friday, as soon as I picked it up from the post office! So I’ve included that footage today - I really hope you enjoy taking a closer look at this beautiful Tarot deck.

Get yourself a cuppa, and let’s essentially go back in time to my room in Warrnambool!

The Nocturnal Divine Feminine Tarot Deck by Cocorrina

The Divine Feminine Tarot has been created by a lovely company called Cocorrina ran by Corina and her husband Theo. This deck has come all the way from a Greek Island, where they live with their son. Corina designed this deck, with Jenna Opsahl writing the card meanings in the guidebook.

It really is such a beautiful interpretation of the usual Smith-Waite Tarot. There are definitely correlations and certain aspects that she’s carried over to the Divine Feminine tarot while keeping it within her theme. In terms of how they compare, I’d have to spend some more time with the deck! If you’re curious, let me know and I can make another video and blog post sharing an update on how this deck is going after I’ve used it a while!

There are two versions of the Divine Feminine Tarot Deck - Nocturnal (black) and Diurnal (white).

The Diurnal version is black and white, while the version I chose is the black and gold Nocturnal style. The only difference between the two versions is the colour palette - otherwise, they are identical. It’s simply a matter of personal preference! Though if you really can’t choose, you can get them both in a bundle.

Fresh out of the box, the deck comes with a beautiful guidebook too, which we’ll get to shortly. First things first, let’s talk about the Tarot deck!

The packaging is incredible. So much attention to detail! As you can see in the image above, the deck itself, in its box, is even sealed! How beautiful is that?

Once you open the box, the Tarot cards are wrapped in tissue paper with star constellations on it, with a beautiful satin ribbon holding it together, finished with a sticker. Unravelling the ribbon and the tissue paper, I felt like a kid of Christmas morning! Oh, the anticipation!

The only plastic is on the deck itself, which isn’t too bad! It wasn’t hard to remove which is always good too.

The deck feels good in the hand, it’s glossy but not slippery! They seem to shuffle really well as a result.

The gold on the edges and throughout each of the cards shines in the light, it’s just stunning. To see each of the cards in more detail, check out the video above or click here to watch it on YouTube! (You’ll find timestamps in the description over on Youtube, so you can skip straight to the flip-through of each of the cards if you’d like!)

The Guidebook

The guidebook is also beautifully designed of course. I love that the contents show you a page number for each card, that’s always handy. There’s an introduction, the history of tarot, how to prepare and care for your cards, and Tarot spreads, followed by the card definitions. The artwork for each card is in full colour, it’s so beautiful! The layout for each card is really well done too, including keywords, a sentence that gives you direct insight into the card, followed by a paragraph. The writing is wonderful, and the interpretations of each of the cards is really beautiful, alongside the stunning imagery of the cards themselves.

Even the back of the guidebook is so nice! As I said earlier, there is so much attention to detail. I feel so much love and effort when into creating these!

Extras

In the box (which was also designed beautifully but in the excitement of unboxing, I kinda forgot to film or take photos of the actual box haha), there were also a couple of extras worth mentioning! There was a note from Corina and Theo, which is really sweet! Plus there was a cute, pretty little sticker included in the box too, of the Cocorinna moon logo.

Initial Thoughts

I’m so obsessed with black and gold, and how the edges of the cards shimmer and shine in the light. The guidebook is beautifully written, the artwork is stunning, and I’m sure that these cards will bring me so much guidance and clarity. I can’t wait to use them!

Honestly, I’m so in love with this deck already! I’m obsessed. I could look at them all day! They are truly stunning.

A Few Days Later…

So what do you think of the Divine Feminine Tarot? I am truly in love. I adore black and gold everything, I’ve said it many times on this channel already! I’ve been using this deck for the last few days, and its guidance has been on point!

It bears mentioning that this deck is a rather pricey one, but I’d be willing to buy it with my own money. I’m so incredibly grateful to Corina for sending me this deck from the competition! It’s definitely worth entering competitions, you just never know what you might be lucky enough to win! I truly wanted this deck the moment I saw it on Instagram, I think I always knew I’d end up with it.

In summary, I believe this deck is worth every penny. It’s from a small, family-run company, and it’s so beautifully designed and presented.

Even if I had purchased it myself, it would still feel like a gift!

It shuffles really well too – the gold on the sides is almost grippy in a way! So, though the card stock is on the thinner, more flexible side, and is glossy, it shuffles really well, and feels durable! As breathtakingly beautiful as they are, it feels like a deck I can travel with, and use a lot without fearing I’ll damage it.

Lastly today, I want to quickly read from the guidebook because Corina explains the idea behind the Divine Feminine theme really well!

“The Divine Feminine invites us to be receptive, to be open, and inclusive. Go deep inside of ourselves, and face our shadows. The Divine Feminine lies within all of us, no matter your gender, just like there is a bit of yin in the yang. For the past few thousand years, she has been repressed, cast into the shadows, and left without a safe place to express herself and her gifts fully. The Divine Feminine is energy; she is the feminine in all living beings on earth, including the ocean, moon, and trees.

“In her most authentic nature, she is nurturing, motherly, and affectionate. She represents beauty, sensuality, attraction, creativity, and inspiration in its purest form. She is pure peace and harmony. She is intuitive and fully open to recieve. She is already in you; all you have to do is remember who you truly are.”
(‘A Divine Feminine Tarot Deck Guidebook’, Pg. 6).

So. Damn. Beautiful! Ah. I might come across a little biased because I’m so head over heels in love with this deck! But honestly, this deck is exactly what I need right now.
